250z FAQ

My 250z isn’t filling, what should I do?

  • Ensure the degassing screw is fully tightened.
  • Confirm the fill probe is inserted until it stops.
  • Cock the rifle before filling.
  • If using a hand pump, start with rapid strokes (10–20 pumps) before switching to a normal pace.
  • If the issue persists, contact customer service for assistance.

I’m having accuracy issues with my 250z, what should I do?

  • Clean the barrel with Ballistol, followed by dry patches.
  • Remove aftermarket sound suppressors to rule out clipping issues.
  • Use high-quality, medium to heavy weight pellets for better performance.
  • Adjust the regulator pressure or hammer spring tension based on your ammunition.
  • Avoid excessively long or heavy slugs, as they may not stabilize well in this rifle.
  • Experiment with different brands and pellet types to find the best fit. Experiment with pellet head size or slug diameters for optimal results.

What size moderator should I use with my 250z?

  • Match the moderator size to the caliber of your rifle:
    • .22 rifle: Use a .22 moderator.
    • .25 rifle: Use a .25 moderator.
  • Sizing up slightly can help reduce the chance of clipping. Using a .25 mod on a .22, or a .30 mod on a .25 isn't a bad idea.
  • Thread size is 1/2-20.

How do I remove the thread protector so I can install a moderator?

  • Make sure you add some air to your gun. Once it has 1000 psi in the air tube, you should be able to remove the thread protector without needing any tools.

Is the barrel choked, and can I use slugs with my 250z?

  • The 250z barrel is non-choked and performs well with slugs.
  • Use slugs weighted similarly to heavy pellets and test their fit in the single-shot tray before loading them into the magazine.

How do I diagnose a leak with my 250z?

  1. If your gun is leaking while under warranty, be sure to reach out to customer service for a replacement.
  2. Make sure you have a leak in the first place. Compressing air makes it warm. As the air inside your gun cools, the pressure will drop slightly, then as temperature stabilizes, it should level off and remain stable. This will manifest itself in a small drop of pressure and is perfectly normal (Ideal gas law). If pressure continues to drop, you probably have a leak.
  3. Determine where the leak is coming from. Dipping the male suppressor threads (do not go deeper than half of the threads) into a container of water will reveal an issue with the valve if air is seen in the form of bubbles. The same can be done with the fill probe to diagnose leaks from the fill port. Again, only go deep enough so any air leaks have to bubble through the water. Remove the stock and spray soapy water around the pressure gauges and regulator. Look for bubbles to form and pop to signal leaks in that area.
  4. O-rings, valves, and other components that are needed to fix any leaking issues are available on our website to fix guns that are out of warranty. All such work should be performed by a competent airgunsmith. Providing the identified source of the leak can help customer service guide you to the correct parts.

Can I use my Picatinny accessories with the 250z M-LOK slots?

Yes, purchase Picatinny-to-M-LOK adapters to use your existing accessories.

How do I tune my 250z?

  • Use a chronograph to measure speed and consistency.
  • Adjust the hammer spring tension or regulator pressure incrementally to achieve desired performance.
  • For maximum efficiency, tune the hammer spring to 95.5% of the maximum velocity achievable with your regulator pressure output.

What is the regulator’s adjustable range for my 250z?

  • The regulator can be set between 1000–3000 psi, with 2000 psi being the default setting. Adjusting the regulator output above 2500 psi isn't recommended for normal users, as this is the maximum the hammer spring can handle. Replacing the hammer spring with an aftermarket one will make the gun harder to cock and can make your gun potentially unsafe. Doing so is at your own risk and will void your rifle's warranty.

How should I store my 250z PCP Rifle?

  • Leaving pressure in a PCP is a good idea if you can store it out of reach of unauthorized users. If you are storing for a very long time, store it just under your regulator's output pressure.

I don't have a castle nut wrench. How do I tighten my buffer tube?

  • Obviously, acquiring a castle nut wrench is the best option. In a pinch, you can adjust the stock to being slightly unscrewed, then tightening the castle nut by hand, and rotating the stock to final position. Do not apply excessive force in doing so, and this is more of a trial-and-error process, so it might take a couple of attempts to get it correct.
